第一章 翻译的基本概念和问题
在翻译过程中为了达到意思相同，有很多具体的问题：
a.直译还是意译(Literal Translation vs. Free
translation）
b.功能对等还是形式对应 (Functional Equivalence vs.
Formal Correspondence)
c.重原文的形式还是重原文的内容（Form vs.
Content）
d.靠近源语还是靠近译入语（Source oriented vs.
Target-oriented）
e.以原作者为中心还是以译文读者为中心（Authorr centered vs.
Reader centered）
f.原作者写作的目的还是译者翻译的目的（The Purpose of the
Author vs. the Purpose of the Translator）
牢记：在经济、科学、新闻、政论等语篇中，语言形式不是关键的因素，译文就应尽量保持译人语的特色。在英汉翻译中发挥中文的优势始终是译者要努力的方向。
如果文如其人，译者除了翻译原文的内容外，也有必要时译文也能文如其人。
